HARVEST UPDATE:      2008 Alaska Snow Crab Season Update

A successful 2008 Alaska Snow Crab season is nearing a close. This year's Total Allowable Catch (TAC) was set at 63 million pounds, which is a substantial rise from last year's 36 million pound TAC.  Alaska's dedication to sustainability has helped to make this a "resource on the upswing" with other factors such as earlier processing and better arrangement for quota management contributing to this season's success.
